KUM was established in 1919. The company name stands for „Kunststoff & Metall“, which is German for plastic and metal. The material that most KUM Sharpeners are made of.

In the 1960`s KUM developed the first sharpener specifically engineered to sharpen delicate cosmetic pencils. Today, most of the major cosmetic brands are using KUM Cosmetic Sharpeners to ensure always perfect sharpening results on their cosmetic pencils.

20 years ago KUM China Ltd was founded to offer beauty brands from around the world access to the vast manufacturing resources for beauty accessories in Mainland China without having to establish their own offices in China.
